Welcome to our school family.
As the Executive Head teacher, I am delighted to welcome you to the Federation of Boldmere Schools. Since being appointed as the Executive Head Teacher on the 1st September 2016, I am enjoying the challenges of my new role and want to ensure that everything I do, has a positive impact upon all of the children at our schools.
I feel that the transition from being the Head Teacher of the junior school into my current role, has been both smooth and successful. Having the responsibility of leading the schools is an absolute privilege and certainly one that I do not underestimate. Ensuring children are happy and cared for at our schools is an absolute priority and all staff are aware of this ethos.
It is absolutely essential for the schools to continuously build upon the great work that is taking place across both schools, whilst retaining the individuality of the provision that is being offered in each setting. Working in such a well organised collaboration, enables us to identify what will benefit the pupils at our schools, which is always the priority of our decision making processes.
Leading the school with the help and support of our Heads of School, Mrs Kenny at the nursery and infants and Mrs Silverwood at the juniors is proving to be very successful. We will continue to build our relationship so there is a seamless blend of education from Nursery through to Year 6.
We have the needs of the children at the heart of everything we do, and we recognise the valuable contribution that parents and carers play in order for us to achieve our goals. It is vital that we continue to build upon our continuous successes of our high performing schools, so we can go from strength to strength and improve further.

E-Safety and Cyberbullying
During our PD day on January 3rd we received training from Service Birmingham, Link2ict, around online safety in the primary curriculum.
The training supported our current school procedures and the Keeping Children safe in Education September 2016, Statutory guidance for schools and colleges.
As a result of the training, we would like to make parents aware of two websites that provide information on current online risks and provides support tackling such issues.
* www.internetmatters.org have You Tube videos to support their “Protect their curiosity campaign” * NSPCC provide information “ Your guide to the social networks your kids use” on www.net-aware.org.uk
We hope that you find these websites informative. Further information will be provided and updated regularly, on our school website.
It's also National E-Safety Day in February. Click on the image to find out more ways of keeping Safe on the Internet.
In the wake of recent figures of an 88% increase in calls to Childline about cyberbullying in the last five years, it is crucial that schools know how to effectively prevent and respond to cyberbullying.
To support schools in developing effective strategies, Childnet has launched new cyberbullying guidance developed with input from young people, schools and experts across the UK. Click the link for more information.
Year 5 went to the National Space Centre in Leicester as part of their Space topic. It was a blast!
The Infants love their new Playground equipment! Thanks to the PTA who donated the money.
